BUK 2017/2018 Postgraduate Admission Form Out


Bayero University, Kano, BUK has released it's Postgraduate application forms for the 2017/2018 academic session which is now on sale. 
Note: The application form is Ten Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N10,500.00).

The Authorities of the Bayero University, Kano (BUK) invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the university various postgraduate programmes for the 2017/2018 academic session.


BUK POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS.

1. Candidates for admission into Ph.D/M.Phil programmes shall have M.A, M.Ed., M.Sc, M.Eng. or LLM Degrees in the relevant areas with CGPA of at least 3.50 on a scale of 0.00 to 5.00 from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognised University.

2. Candidates for admission into M.A, M.Ed, M.Sc (Ed), MLS, M.Sc., M.Eng. and LLM programmes shall have:
i. A minimum of a Good Second Class Lower Degree in the relevant areas from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognised University.
ii. A Degree plus University Postgraduate Diploma at Credit level in the relevant areas from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognised University.
iii. For all Engineering programmes, candidates must have Credit in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

3. Candidates for admission into MBA (Regular), MBF, MHE and MTM should have:
i. A minimum of a Good Second Class Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Management, Economics, Banking and Finance from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognized University.
ii. A Degree or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit plus University Postgraduate Diploma with a minimum of Merit in the relevant areas from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognized University

4. Candidates for admission into MBA (Special) should have a minimum of a Good Second Class Degree in any discipline from BUK or any other recognized University.

5. Candidates for admission into MHR should have a degree in Medicine, Nursing and Biological Science of Bayero University, Kano or any other recognised University.

6. Candidates for admission into MDS, MPPA, MEM, MCMP shall have:
i. A Good Honours Degree with at least Second Class Lower in the relevant areas from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognized University.
ii. A Degree or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit plus a Postgraduate Diploma with a minimum classification of Merit in the relevant areas from Bayero University, Kano.

7. Candidates for admission into MBCL shall possess:
i. A minimum of a Good Second Class Degree in Law or the Social Sciences from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognized University
ii. A Degree in Law or the Social Sciences plus University Postgraduate Diploma with minimum classification of Merit from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognized University.

8. Candidates for admission into PGDM, PGDBF, PGDHE, PGDPPA, PGDSPA, PGDCMPC, PGDMC, PGDDS, PGDE, PGDGC, PGDRTM, PGDHE, PGDDA and PGDIM shall possess a Degree in any discipline from BUK or any other recognized University or HND with a minimum classification of Lower Credit obtained from recognized Institutions.

9. Candidates for admission into PGDEM, PGDLA and PGDSE, shall possess a Degree in Geography, Environmental Sciences, Agriculture and related disciplines or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in the related disciplines.

10. Candidates for admission into PGDAF shall hold a Degree in Accounting or related disciplines obtained from a recognized University or HND with a minimum classification of Lower Credit in Accounting or related disciplines obtained from recognized Institutions.

11. Candidates for admission into PGDTESL must have at least a 3rd class Degree in English or combined honours.

12. Candidates for admission into PGDHS should have at least a 3rd class Degree in Hausa or combined honours or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in the relevant areas obtained from recognized Institutions.

13. Candidates for admission into PGDBS, PGDC and PGDIP shall have a Degree in the relevant Science subjects or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in the relevant areas obtained from recognized Institutions.

14. Candidates for admission into PGDEE, PGDCE and PGDME shall have a Degree in the relevant Engineering areas or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in the relevant engineering areas obtained from recognized Institutions.

15. Candidates for admission into Masters in Public Health must:
i. Have MBBS or BDS degree of Bayero University, Kano or an equivalent Medical Degree from a recognised University.
ii. Be registered with the Nigerian Medical and Dental Council and posses a current practicing license.
iii. Have at least three years post qualification cognate experience in Medicine or health related area at Federal, State or Local Government Area levels. Those employed in non-governmental organisations, engaged in occupational health services as well as those in the private sector are also eligible.

NOTE: All candidates for admission into Ph.D, M.Phil, M.A, M.Ed, M.Sc, M.Eng and LLM Programmes must provide records of their Academic Transcripts.


HOW TO APPLY FOR BUK POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION.

The cost of each application is Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) only, plus administrative charges of Five Hundred Naira (N500.00) only.

Step 1: Visit www.buk.edu.ng and under the PROSPECTIVE STUDENT TAB click Applications at the home page. Login using FULL NAME OF THE APPLICANT and select “Applying for a Postgraduate Programme”. A username and password will be generated for you. Please take careful note of them, as you need them for subsequent steps of the application process.

Step 2: Login to your account and generate/print your BUK Personalised Payment Form (BUKPPF). Anon-refundable application fee ofN10,500:00 (Ten Thousand Five Hundred Naira Only) is reflected on applicant’s BUKPPF, to be paid using Remita e-Payments and e-Collection platform (www.remita.net). Applicants must make sure that they entered ALL the information of the BUKPPF EXACTLY. 


Applicants must also ensure that
  • Name of MDA
  • Name of Service/Purpose
  • Description • Amount to Pay (₦)
  • Application No.
  • BUKPPF ID
  • Payer’s Full Name
  • Payer’s Email
  • Payer’s Phone
are captured exactly as they are written on the BUKPPF. Note that Payer (Payer’s Full Name, Payer’s Email, Payer’s Phone) means the applicant, so even if the applicant is not the one making the payment (payment by proxy) make sure to use the applicant information.

Step 3: Return to www.buk.edu.ng and login with your username and password to fill in the Application Forms; Programme Selection Form, Personal Data Form, Qualifications Form.

Step 4: Transcript Request Form shall also be filled by candidates for Ph.D, M.Phil and Academic Masters’ Programmes in addition to the forms listed in Step 3 above

Step 5: Review your forms to ensure accuracy of all information provided. Click ‘SUBMIT’ to complete the application process.

Step 6: An Acknowledgement Slip will be generated for you immediately. Print the Slip and keep it safe. The slip will be needed during the collection of admission letter and during registration.

BUK POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION FORM CLOSING DATE.

Payment at the bank opens on Wednesday 10th May, 2017 and closes on Friday, 25th August, 2017. The website for completing the Application Forms will close by 11:59PM on Sunday, 27th August, 2017.

Bayero University, Kano, BUK has released it's students’ library registration procedure for the 2016/2017 academic session.

All registered students, especially fresh and direct entry students are advised to register with the University Library. The affected students should come along with the following items:


FOR FRESH STUDENTS:
  • Admission Letter (Original)
  • A Photocopy of Student Information Form (S.I.F)
  • Two recent passport photographs

FOR RETURNING STUDENTS
  • A Photocopy of Student Information Form (S.I.F)
  • Two recent passport photographs
  • Clearance letter from the Student’s Faculty Engineering Students from Engineering Library, Medical Students from AKTH Library, Agricultural Students from Agricultural Library and Old campus Students from Science Library.

Time: Monday – Thursday: 10:00am – 2:00pm and on Friday 10:00am – 12:00pm

Registration closes on FRIDAY 24th FEBRUARY, 2017

Note: Students from Faculty of Arts and Islamic Studies, Agriculture, Education, Social and Management Science, Technology, Law, Earth and Environmental Science and Communication should go to University Library, New Site to register while Faculty of Science and College of Health Sciences should go to Science Library, Old Campus to register.

Bayero University, Kano, BUK gas released it's registration details and time table for undergraduate students for the 2016/2017 academic session.

This is to draw the attention of members of the University community to the following plans for registration for the 2016/2017 Session, according to a statement signed by the Director, Examinations, Admissions and Records (DEAR), Fatima Binta Mohammed

The registration procedure is still through the myBUK portal. A student is to login to the University website www.buk.edu.ng and click on the myBUK link. Thereafter, follow the procedure explained on the site and on billboards. A student who pays an amount different from what is on the BUKPPF would not be able to continue.

Registration Timetable: The following timetable will be strictly enforced:

  • Senate has directed that any student who fails to register within the specified time has to apply for Suspension of Studies for the Session within two weeks. Those who fail to apply for Suspension of Studies within that time would be considered withdrawn from the University.
  • The Senate decision will be strictly enforced. YOU HAVE BEEN INFORMED IN ADVANCE!

BAYERO BUSINESS SCHOOL ADMISSION – ENTRY REQUIREMENTS.

MASTERS IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA)
Candidates for admission into MBA (Regular) should have:
A minimum of a Good Second Class Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Management, Economics, Banking and Finance from any recognized University
A Degree or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit plus University Postgraduate Diploma with a minimum of Merit in the relevant areas from any recognized University.
Candidates for admission into MBA (Special) should have a minimum of a Good Second Class Degree in any discipline from Bayero University, Kano or any other recognized University.

MASTERS IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP (M.Ent)
Candidates for admission into M.Ent (Regular) should have:
  1. A minimum of a good Second Class degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Economics, Banking and Finance, or any related discipline from any recognized university; or
  2. A Degree or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship (PGD-Ent) with a minimum of Merit from any recognized university.
Candidates for admission into M.Ent (Special) should have a minimum of a good Second Class degree in any discipline from any recognized university.

POSTGARDUATE DIPLOMA IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP (PGD-Ent)
A candidate must have obtained BSc or HND; or
Have accredited professional qualifications, such as ICAN, ANAN, etc from a recognized institution and must have possessed five relevant credits at Ordinary Level.
The candidate is also required to have at least one year post graduation experience.

POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT (PGDM)
Candidates for admission into PGDM shall possess a Degree in any discipline from any recognized university; or
HND with a minimum classification of Lower Credit obtained from recognized institutions.
The candidate is also required to have at least one years of post graduation experience.

HOW TO APPLY FOR BAYERO BUSINESS SCHOOL ADMISSION.
The cost of each application is Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) only, plus administrative charges of Five Hundred Naira (N500.00) only.

Please ensure that you have the entry requirements of the programme applied for, plus five ‘O’ Level Credits (including English Language and/or Mathematics).

Step 1. Click on the Register . At the Create an Account page, create an account by providing your First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Personal Email and Personal GSM Phone Number. A Login credentials (username and password) will be generated for you. Please take note of them, as you need them for subsequent steps of the application process. Use LoginTab on the left navigation panel to login to your account (using your login credentials) to start/continue your application process.

Step 2: Return to the Login Page and login with your username and password to fill in the Application Forms:
  • Programme Selection Form
  • Personal Data Form &
  • Qualifications Form

Step 3: Transcript Request Form shall also be filled in addition to the forms listed in Step 2 above.

Step 4: Review all your forms to ensure accuracy of all information before submission.

Step 5 Generate your BUK Personalised Payment Form (BUKPPF). The BUKPPF includes information need to make payment through the Remita e-Payments platform. Refer to the Payment Procedure documentation for an in-depth look on the payment procedure.

Step 6. After successfully generated BUKPPF and using the Remita e-Payments platform a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number is generated for you. The RRR uniquely ties your payment to your application account, after obtaining your RRR, login to your application account and submit the RRR used for payment. Note that submitting the RRR in the application portal is not tied to your actual payment. 

Step 7. Print an Acknowledgement Slip and keep it safe. The slip will be needed during the collection of admission letter and during registration.

13. Candidates for admission into PGDBS, PGDC and PGDIP shall have a Degree in the relevant Science subjects or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in the relevant areas obtained from recognized Institutions.

14. Candidates for admission into PGDEE, PGDCE and PGDME shall have a Degree in the relevant Engineering areas or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in the relevant engineering areas obtained from recognized Institutions.

15. Candidates for admission into Masters in Public Health must:
i. Have MBBS or BDS degree of Bayero University, Kano or an equivalent Medical Degree from a recognised University.
ii. Be registered with the Nigerian Medical and Dental Council and posses a current practicing license.
iii. Have at least three years post qualification cognate experience in Medicine or health related area at Federal, State or Local Government Area levels. Those employed in non-governmental organisations, engaged in occupational health services as well as those in the private sector are also eligible.

NOTE: All candidates for admission into Ph.D, M.Phil, M.A, M.Ed, M.Sc, M.Eng and LLM Programmes must provide records of their Academic Transcripts.

BUK POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION – METHOD OF APPLICATION.

The cost of each application is Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) only, plus administrative charges of Five Hundred Naira (N500.00) only.

Step 1. Click on the Register (http://mybuk.buk.edu.ng/bukforms2016/create_account.php) Tab on the left navigation panel to go to the Create an Account Page. At the Create an Account page, create an account by providing your First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Personal Email and Personal GSM Phone Number. A Login credentials (username and password) will be generated for you. Please take note of them, as you need them for subsequent steps of the application process. Use Login Tab on the left navigation panel to login to your account (using your login credentials) to start/continue your application process.

Step 2. Return to the Login Page(http://mybuk.buk.edu.ng/bukforms2016/login.php) and login with your username and password to fill in the Application Forms:
  • Programme Selection Form
  • Personal Data Form &
  • Qualifications Form

Step 3. Transcript Request Form shall also be filled in addition to the forms listed in Step 2 above.

Step 4. Review all your forms to ensure accuracy of all information before submission.

Step 5. Generate your BUK Personalised Payment Form (BUKPPF). The BUKPPF includes information need to make payment through the Remita e-Payments platform. Refer to the Payment Procedure documentation for an in-depth look on the payment procedure.

Step 6. After successfully generated BUKPPF and using the Remita e-Payments platform a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number is generated for you. The RRR uniquely ties your payment to your application account, after obtaining your RRR, login to your application account and submit the RRR used for payment. Note that submitting the RRR in the application portal is not tied to your actual payment.
