Apply for Lagos State Postgraduate Scholarship Form – 2016/2017

Lagos State Scholarship Board invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the state’s postgraduate scholarship award scheme for the 2017/2017 academic session.


OVERVIEW OF LAGOS STATE POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP.
All applicants are required to make a Payment of N2,000.00 for Local Scholarship through the Office of Special Adviser on Education, Alausa Secretariat.

Then take the treasury receipt to the Lagos State Scholarship Board to secure their secret voucher pins for online application. Application will not be processed without evidence of treasury receipt. 

Application deadline is 23rd December, 2016.


LAGOS STATE POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS / ELIGIBILITY.
1. All applicants must have gained full time admission into an accredited Nigerian tertiary Institution for postgraduate studies (Masters or Doctorate).

2. All Post-graduate applicants: 
i. Where CGPA scale is 7.0 (e.g University of Ibadan) he /she must have graduated with a minimum of 4.9/7.0 at undergraduate level 
ii. Where CGPA scale is 5.0 (e.g University of Lagos) he /she must have graduated a minimum of 3.5/5.0 at undergraduate level

3. All applicants must be in their first year or above 

4. All applicants must have completed LASRRA Registration 

5. All applicants must have a signed letter of identification from their respective Oba

6. All applicants must have a signed letter of identification from their respective local government 

7. All applicants must purchase a Scholarship application form. (Payment of N2,000.00 for Local Scholarship) through the Office of Special Adviser on Education, Block 5, 3rd Floor, Alausa Secretariat. 

8. All applicants must upload clear scanned copies of all documents to ascertain the genuineness of their claims. Documents like: 
i. Admission Letter 
ii. Valid ID Card
iii. Letter of identification from Oba
iv. Letter of identification from Local Government 
v. SSCE result
vi. Lagos State Resident Registration Agency(LASSRA) registration card 
vii. Passport Photograph (clear background not older than three months). 
viii. Progress report from school stating results clearly

9. Shortlisted applicant must participate in a Computer Based Test on 7th and 8th Febuary, 2017 conducted by Dragnet Solutions Limited in conjunction with Lagos State Scholarship Board. 

10. Successful applicants will be contacted for oral interview

  • Progress report from school stating results clearly

2. Ensure that information are filled accurately to avoid mix up after application 
3. Ensure the documents are named according to what they represent to avoid mixing up documents during upload
4. Ensure you attach the appropriate documents when asked to upload 

To apply, follow the steps below:

2. Click on “Register Now” to create an account. 
3. Proceed to your email box to activate your account 
4. Click on https://scholastica.ng/schemes/apply/5068 to return to Scholarship site 
5. Enter your registered email and password to upload your information. 
6. Enter your personal information, National Identification Number (if available), educational information, other information and upload required scanned documents. 
7. Ensure the name used in applications matches the names on all documentation in same order. Upload a sworn affidavit or certificate if otherwise. 
8. Ensure you view all documents after uploading, to eliminate errors during uploading. 
9. When asked to upload photo, upload a pass-port photograph with a white background. 
10. Recheck application information to avoid errors 
11. Click “Apply Now” to submit information and provide the secret voucher pin and LASSRA Number in the appropriate column
12. You will receive an email and a sms that confirms your application was successful. 
13. Return to https://scholastica.ng/schemes/apply/5068, enter your Email and Password to download your profile and proceed to have your Head of Department sign the document. 
14. Upload a scanned copy of the signed profile, this would be used for verification.
15. Keep the hard copy of the signed profile, this would also be used for verification. 

To secure your voucher pin proceed to the Lagos Scholarship Board office, 254 Ipaja road, Agege, Lagos and show them your treasury receipt.

Note: Multiple applications attract a disqualification penalty from the Scholarship board.

ABOUT LAGOS STATE SCHOLARSHIP BOARD.
The Lagos State Scholarship Board is the agency in charge of scholarship, bursary and other related matters within the state.
It grants Scholarship awards to deserving indigenes in various tertiary institutions for full time studies in order to assist these students financially. 

LAGOS STATE UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS / ELIGIBILITY.

Lagos State University, LASU has issued out notice of Lagos State Indigenship verification exercise for the 2016/2017 academic session newly admitted candidates.

This is to inform candidates who are of Lagos State Origin and who are eventually offered Provisional Admission for the 2016/2017 Academic Session that the Indigeneship Verification Exercise will hold as follows:

Date of Interview: Thursday, 17th and Friday, 18th November, 2016

Time: 9:00 am to 4:00pm daily

Venue: MBA Classrooms

Successful candidates of Lagos State Origin offered Provisional Admission from the Admission Screening Exercise are to pay a sum of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00) only, online and visit LASU website www.lasu.edu.ng to download the Indigenship Verification Data Form for completion and other necessary details.

Please NOTE that ONLY candidates who are of Lagos State Origin and have been offered provisional admission are eligible for screening.

Candidates in this category are expected to be CLEARED by the Independent Indigenship Verification Committee (IIVC) BEFORE being screened and cleared by the officers assigned for the Central Screening Exercise.

Except a candidate is screened and cleared, access to registration and bursary number will NOT be granted.

This is to inform all Lagos State University [LASU] successful candidates in the first round of UTME Screening Exercise only and which provisional admission for the 2016/2017 academic session has been offered admission are hereby advised to report for Clearance from Monday 7th November, 2016 with the following acceptance fee payment procedure and clearance requirements; 

Acceptance Fee Payment Procedure

Successful candidates are therefore advised to commence payment of Non-Refundable Acceptance Fee of Ten thousand Naira (N10,000) immediately; 
Step I: Visit LASU E-payment Website on www.lasu.edu.ng/epayment 
Step II: Enter your UTME Registration Number in the Matric. Number textbox. 
Step III: Choose “Main Campus” for the Campus/Application drop-down. 
Step IV: Choose “Undergraduate” for the Study/Application type, drop-down. 
Step V: Click on the “Proceed” button. 
Step VI: You will then be directed to a page where your acceptance fees will be displayed. Click on the “Confirm Payment Information and Proceed” button. 
Step VII: The invoice page for your Acceptance Fee will then be opened, 
Step VIII: Copy the transaction ID displayed. 
Step IX: Click on the “Click here to pay immediately on Quickteller.com” link to pay your acceptance fees or open https://www.quickteller.com/lasu to pay your fees. 
Step X: Follow the step-by-step payment procedure on the link in Step IX to pay your fees. 
Step XI: Print out your payment receipt. 

Admission Clearance Requirements:

Successful Candidates are expected to appear before the Faculty/School/College clearance team with the following items; 
  • Evidence of Payment of Acceptance Fee;
  • Original and Photocopies of Credentials;
  • Birth Certificate /Declaration of Age;
  • Two (2) Passport Photographs;
  • JAMB Notification results;
  • IIVC Clearance Certificate for Candidates of Lagos State Origin;
  • WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB scratch card for each result presented; and

This is to inform aspirants of Lagos State University that the portal for the 2nd round of 2016/2017 admission screening exercise has been enabled.

How to Apply For LASU 2nd Round Admission Screening Exercise

Click on the Sign Up link to register and 

Then Login Page to generate the needed debt that you will pay for using the e-payment Page 

Thereafter you will need to re-login to the login page again to view the PIN that you will employ at the screening portion Screening Section .

Proceed to https://dpu.lasu.edu.ng/admissionscreening/ to complete your registration and print the slip

Note: 
i. You will need to supply some basic information, a passport sized photograph and make payments on this segment of the process. The photograph should be at most 20kb in size and should be a jpeg/jpg file.

The Management Of Lagos State University has released the 2016/2017 UTME Admission Screening Results of all applicants.

  • Click the submit button to view admission result.

LASU sacks 13 junior workers

Lagos State University, LASU, has dismissed 13 workers for alleged falsification of their West African Junior School Certificate Examination results and stealing of diesel.

LASU sacks 13 junior workers

Out of the 13 junior staff dismissed by the school, two of them – Olatunji Olasunkanmi and Okunsanya Olashile – were accused of stealing 200 litres of diesel each.

The names of the affected workers were released by the LASU Centre for Information, Press and Public Relations, after the management of the school approved their dismissal.

A statement by the centre read in part, “The Lagos State University Governing Council at its 112th statutory meeting on Thursday, October 20, 2016, received and considered Paper No. 10/GC/16/068 on the Report of Junior Staff Disciplinary Committee on allegations levelled against some members of staff.

“Council, after deliberations, approved the recommendations of the Junior Staff Disciplinary Committee on the affected members of staff.”

Nine of the affected workers were dismissed for alleged falsification of their WAEC results, which were used in gaining employment at the institution, while a worker, Samuel Ogunwale, was sacked for allegedly collecting N123,950 from a student.

Another employee, Jemilat Matti, was dismissed for abandonment of duty.

Those dismissed for forging their WAEC results are Matthew Jatto, Stella Iheuko, Michael John, Hassan Tiamiyu, Julius Hundeyin, Hassan Kamoru, Nnajike Ofomadu, Adedapo Adewusi and Funmilayo Emeza.
