Our group is a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary research group. Our projects have mainly focused on the epidemiology of chronic diseases with particular interest on cardiovascular diseases. Our current projects REmoving the MAsk on Hypertension (REMAH) and Nigerian Salt Survey are poised to scale up on existing project: Nigerian Population Research on Environment Gene and Health (NIPREGH).

Requirements The candidate must:
  • Have obtained a Bachelor’s degree at not lower than second class upper division level in the following areas: Physiology, Medical Biochemistry or Biological Sciences
  • Must not be more than three years post-graduation.
  • Show potential as an academic researcher hence be motivated to pursue a master’s degree in University of Abuja
  • Be able to demonstrate his/her affinity with the research group
  • Be willing to carry out some organizational duties
  • Be willing to live within the vicinity of Federal Housing Authority Estate, Lugbe where the field centre is located.

Offer
We offer the candidate a full-time employment for 2 years.
You will work both at the field centre located at the Federal Housing Authority, Estate Lugbe, Abuja as well as carry out field work at other states in Nigeria.
The salary for this position amounts to about N60, 000 per month. Other fringe benefits include the offer of an accommodation within the Federal Housing Estate, Lugbe.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the vacant positions of Bursar and University Librarian of the Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola. 

1. THE BURSAR

The Bursar is a Principal Officer,andin accordance with the University Act,the Chief Financial Officer of the University. He is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-daygood management,control of financial affairs and the provision of accounting services for the University. Applicants for this position must be of impeccable integrity and transparency, professional distinction, and must command respect and engender loyalty of staff and students of the University. 
Qualification and Experience 
Candidates must possess a minimum of second class honours degree in Accountancy from a recognized university plus full professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CPA, ICAN or ANAN with 15 years cognate working experience preferably in a University or similar institution. Possession of a relevant higher degree will be an added advantage. The candidate must be computer literate and must have served in capacity not below the rank of Deputy Bursar. Applicants should not be over 60 years and must not be more than 65 years at completion of tenure. 

2. THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARIAN

The University Librarian, a Principal Officer of the University,shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the good management of the University Library and the other library services in the University. 

Qualification and Experience

Candidates for the post of the University Librarian must possess a good honours degree with a minimum of second class, Masters and PhD in Library Science, Library and Information Science or related field from a recognized university. The candidate must demonstrate academic excellence in quality publications, teaching and research, and credible community service. He/she must be computer literate and show evidence of considerable scholarship and understanding of the application of new technologies to library operations and services. The person must have at least 15 years post-qualification experience in reputable University library, comparable institutions or research institutions. He/she must be a person with leadership qualities, high integrity and unquestionable character and an outstanding manager of men and resources. 

3. SALARIES AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE FOR BURSAR AND LIBRARIAN

Appointment is made for fixed period of 5 years only. The salary is as approved for Bursar and University Librarian in Nigerian federal universities as may be determined from time to time by Government/Governing Council.

THE INSTITUTION

The Nasarawa State University, Keffi was established under Nasarawa State Law No. 2 of 2001 as passed by the State House of Assembly to encourage the advancement of learning located in Keffi town, the University caters for both full time and part time students. The University today has seven faculties, 54 academic programmes, a Postgraduate School, Institutes, Centres and Schools. The University is run under three campuses, main campus in Keffi, Pyanku Campus and Shabu-Lafia Campus.

THE POSITIONS
Registrar

The Registrar is a Principal Officer and as the Chief Administrative Officer of the University, is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administrative work of the University except as regards financial matters which fall within the purview of the Bursar. The Registrar is also the Secretary to Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation of the University.

Bursar

The Bursar is a Principal Officer and as the Chief Financial Officer of the University, is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.

University Librarian

The University Librarian, a Principal Officer of the University, shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the good management of the University Library and other library services in the University.

THE CANDIDATES

For the vacant posts, the University seeks candidates with vision, proven academic distinction, managerial ability, integrity and transparency in private and public life. The right candidate should also have ability to develop linkages with the external communities to support the emerging needs of the University, command respect and engender cooperation and loyalty of staff and students of the University.
He/She must fully understand the complexity of a University system and must be able to utilize its human resources to attain a word class University system; must enjoy good physical and mental health; must be computer literate/ICT compliant and not older than 60years as at 1st March, 2017.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Registrar

Candidates must possess a good honours degree. Higher qualification will be an added advantage with at least fifteen (15) years of post qualification administrative or professional experience, with a minimum of ten years at the senior management level and not below the rank of Deputy Registrar.

Bursar

Candidates must possess a good honours degree in Accountancy or related discipline as well as professionally recognized Accountancy qualifications e.g. ACMA, ACA, CPA, ACA, CNA, Possession of higher degree will be an advantage. The candidate should have at least (15) years of post graduation experience and (10) years after professional qualification(s). In addition, the candidate must have at least ten (10) years relevant experience in a senior management position preferably in a University or comparable institution and not below the rank of Deputy Bursar.

University Librarian

Candidates for the post of the University Librarian must possess a good honours degree with a minimum of second class, Masters and PhD in Library Science, Library and Information Science or related field, from a recognized University. The Candidate must demonstrate academic excellence in quality publications, teaching and research, and credible community service. He/she must be computer literate and show evidence of considerable scholarship and understanding of the application of new technologies to library operations and services. The person must have at least 15years post-qualification experience in reputable University Library, comparable institutions or research institutions. Be a registered member of Librarian’s Registration Council of Nigerian (LRCN).
