EKSU Certificate & Diploma Admission Form is Out – 2016/17

Ekiti State University, EKSU Diploma and Certificate Programmes admission forms are now on sale for the 2016/2017 academic session. This admission exercise will be the second Admission episode of the Directorate.

EKSU Certificate & Diploma Admission Form is Out – 2016/17

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Ekiti State University (EKSU) Diploma and Certificate Programme of the Directorate for Human Capital Development (DHCD).
  • EKSU DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS.
Prospective students should include:
Matured students who are professionals such as traders, clergymen, artisans, welders, electricians, traditional rulers and chiefs, civil servants – state and local government workers, court attendants etc.
The young school leavers who needed the Diploma certificate for the direct entry admission into the University.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
For Diploma Programmes, candidates must have at least four credit passes in the SSCE. GCE. NECO. NABTEB or their equivalent in relevant courses.
Special consideration Waiver may be given to matured candidates with lesser qualifications but with cognate and relevant working experience;
Candidates should note that there other requirements that may be specific to a particular programme depending on the
type of course;
The basic requirements for Certificate Programme shall be a minimum of the JSS 3 certificate or its equivalents.
  • EKSU DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES ADMISSION – HOW TO APPLY.
Applicants have been directed to obtain forms online for the Certificate and Diploma Programmes on the payment of Four Thousand Naira (N4,000) only for certificate programme and Six Thousand Naira (N6.000) only for Diploma programme to WEMA Bank with:

and also to visit the University portal eduportal.eksu.edu.ng for completion of forms.

This admission exercise will be the second Admission episode of the Directorate.
  • NOTE:
The OLevel requirements for all courses are to be obtained at not more than two sittings.
All advertised programmes run on weekends or evenings depending on department or course.
All duly completed applications must be submitted within six weeks from the date of this advertisement.

Please, kindly note that this list is not exhaustive as others are still in process and will be released as soon as processing is completed.

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following full-time Postgraduate Programmes of the Centre for Gender and Development Studies (CGDS) of the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (EKSU) for the 2016/2017 Academic Session.

PREAMBLE
The programmes are designed as both professional and academic experience focusing on development issues, especially as these relate to women, children and the vulnerable groups, thereby catering for the diverse and pressing demand for professional practice in both public and private sectors of the developing nations. The overall objective of the programmes is to build appropriate skill and capacity for the understanding and analysis of a wide range of social problems and development issues. Thus, relevant desk officers in government agencies and non-governmental agencies; those who desire to train as (1) social workers/social welfare officers, and (2) gender development experts for academic institutions, government/private sector organizations and NGOs; and those willing to pursue academic careers in either Social Work or Gender and Development Studies are eligible for admission into any programmes.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work

Candidates for admission into the programme must be holders of:
(i) a bachelor’s degree not below third class honors in any discipline from a recognized University;
(ii) any approved equivalent professional qualifications (to ‘I’ above) recognized by the Senate of the Ekiti State University;
(iii) relevant professional qualifications such as HND Social Work, not lower than Upper Credit in other related disciplines and approved equivalent qualifications.

Postgraduate Diploma in Gender and Development Studies

Admission into the Postgraduate Diploma in Gender and Development Studies Programme is open to holders of:
(i) a bachelor’s degree not below third class honors in any discipline from a recognized University;
(ii) any approved equivalent professional qualifications to ( ‘I’ above) recognized by the Senate of the Ekiti State University;
(iii) relevant professional qualifications such as HND in Gender and Development Studies, other related disciplines and approved equivalent qualifications.

Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Gender and Development Studies

Candidates seeking admission into the Master of Science Degree in Gender and Development Studies must possess a minimum admission requirement of Second Class (Honors) Lower Division in relevant disciplines from a reputable University. While candidates with a background in Gender Studies, Development Studies and the Social Sciences (Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Economics, Demography and Population Studies) qualify for a direct admission, graduates of other fields must possess a Post Graduate Diploma of at least a credit grade (i.e. a minimum of 3.5) in Gender and Development Studies to be eligible for admission. A candidate having a Post Graduate Diploma in Gender and Development Studies with a minimum grade of Upper Credit (i.e. a minimum GPA of 3.5) and a Third Class Honors in any discipline from EKSU or a recognized University may be considered for admission into the M.Sc. Programme.

Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Social Work

An applicant for admission to the Master of Science Degree in Social must possess a minimum admission requirement of a Second Class (Honors) Lower Division in relevant disciplines from a reputable University. Candidates with background in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Social Studies, Guidance and Counselling, Health Education, Mental Health, Psychiatry, Public/Community Health, Nursing, Law or any other related fields shall qualify for a direct admission into the MSW Programme while graduates of other fields must possess a Post Graduate Diploma of at least an Upper Credit grade (i.e. a minimum GPA of 3.5) in Social Work to be eligible for admission. A candidate with Postgraduate Diploma of at least a credit grade (i.e. a minimum GPA of 3.5) in Social Work and a Third Class Honors in any discipline from EKSU or a recognized University may be considered for admission into the MSW Programme.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Gender and Development Studies

Admission into the Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Gender and Development Studies is open to candidates who must have passed the M.Sc. degree in Gender and Development Studies with a minimum weighted average score of ‘B’ or ‘60’ (B) either from Ekiti State University, or any other recognized University.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Social Work

Admission into the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Programme in Social Work is open to candidates who possess a Master’s degree with a minimum weighted average score of ‘B’ or ’60.0’ in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Gender and Development Studies, Public Health, Social Studies, Guidance and Counselling or any other related fields or disciplines from Ekiti State University, or any other reputable University.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
All candidates must possess a minimum of five credit passes at GCE/SSCE Ordinary Level (obtained at not more than two sittings) including English Language and at least a P7 or E8 in Mathematics.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
(a) An application Fee of Sixteen Thousand Naira only (N16, 000.00) is to be paid via E-transact into any of the following Banks:
(i) First Bank PLC, EKSU Branch
(ii) Wema Bank PLC, EKSU Branch
(iii) Zenith Bank PLC, EKSU Branch
(iv) Access Bank PLC, EKSU Branch
(v) Enterprise Bank PLC, EKSU Branch

(b) Candidates are required to log in on to, using E-transact receipt to download the application form.
(c ) Attach photocopies of credentials to the duly completed form and submit same at the General Office of the School of Postgraduate Studies, EKSU. Candidates should note that the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies must receive reports and officially dispatched transcripts of academic records of each applicant before his/her application could be processed

CLOSING DATE

Application forms are obtainable throughout the year. However, only completed APPLICATION FORMS RECEIVED NOT LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, 30TH NOVEMBER, 2016 will be processed for admission for the 2016/2017 Academic Session. All other forms purchased against the 2017/2018 Academic Session accordingly.

We are using this meduim to inform all Ekiti State University Returning students that the “Late Registration Fee” is between November 14 – November 21, 2016 which attracts a fee of One Thousand Naira (N1000), While “Late Registration Fee” between November 22 – December 2, 2016 will attract a fee of Five Thousand Naira (N5000).

This is to inform all the new and returning students of the Ekiti State University (EKSU) that the authorities of the institution have released the guideline they have to follow to register on the university EduPortal for the 2016/2017 academic session.

Log in to eportal.eksu.edu.ng with your JAMB Registration Number

Complete your Biodata and upload your passport photograph and results/ certificates

Next, click payment tab and follow promptings to print your “Transaction ID/Invoice”

Proceed to your selected bank of choice to pay your school fees as indicated on your invoice

Next, register for your courses (within two weeks of resumption)

Proceed to your Faculty Officer for screening. Bring along the originals of your results/certificates. (Must be completed a month before 1st Semester Examination)

-Print and keep your screening clearance certificate.

The Committee of Deans, Ekiti State University (EKSU) at its 199th regular meeting held on Wednesday, 7th September received and considered the proposed academic calendar for first and second semesters of 2016/2017 session for 100 level to 500 level students. 

After due consideration, the committee recommended the proposal for senate consideration and approval as follows:
